Last Night's Drive: Kevin Garnett
Final Line: 18 Points + 6 Rebounds + 1 Assists = 25 PRA
My Celtics are a championship team. Some people say that they are old (i agree) but they have lots of experience. The Cavs had a great regular season but they don't seem to be consistent in the playoffs. They have the MVP but you only win a championship with teamwork. They didn't find a way to stop Rondo and Pierce and Ray did what they know best: score. Doc Rivers is the best coach in the NBA. Reads the game like nobody else. Amazing!!!
Points: 743 | Rank: 6.117 | Percentile: 77 %
Today I'm Driving With: Lebron James
The world calls him "The King". Lebron is one of the best players, but he's not a king. He needs rings, victories, championships...In my opinion he will get there (but not this year, not with Cleveland and surely not with Mike Brown) The cavs are probably going down tonight and we all need to play James. My feeling is that he will have a monster game but Celtics will prevail because they are a much better team!
I agree! LeBron is the pick for today for several reasons. Sit back and just read:
ReplyDelete1. The Celtics have proven that they are championship quality. Everyone expected they would lose big to the best team in the reg season (cavs) if they even got past the heat. Not only did they get past the heat they creamed the heat! Then they showed why experience, leadership and a great coach pays off! Garnett has look spectacular in the post season where-as he looked old and broken in the regular season. Ray even at an old age can still shoot lights out and can still change a series! Pierce finally made his mark on the series and came alive in game 5 when the C's needed him and now he is dangerous. And last but not least Rondo has been spectacular!
2. Mike Brown is not the coach i thought he was. He has shown an inability to put together the right winning formula. That Cavs spent a ton of money and got a lot of great pieces to put around LeBron and he can't make it work! He is constantly changing up his line ups and how many minutes his players play. Look at all the good coaches in the league (Pop, Jackson, Doc) they know who to put in when, they keep their lineups consistant, they let their players know what they expect and keep it the same each game so they can get into a rhythm. Brown has not done that and its killing them! (just fyi their best line-up is a small one with Varejao, LeBron, Moon, Williams, Jamison, spead the floor, RUN THE BALL, let LeBron own the lane and punish them for triple teaming him by putting shooters and cutters on the wing!)
3. LeBron has always had his doubters, and haters. However game 5 he hit an alltime low and EVERYONE is doubting him! He not only had a bad game but HE GAVE UP! HE QUIT! He will want to squash that with a big game.
4. LeBron will not go out with a poor performance! He is the MVP and when he really sets his mind to it (don't know why he didn't game 5) NO ONE can stop him!
5. Even if the Cavs win, they will need to win again in game 7. Not going to be easy against a championship callibar team with a great coach.
6. Even if you use LeBron and Jamison in game 7 and the Cavs move on, then there are still at least 4 good magic players to use in the next round, not to mention shaq or Mo if he shows up. Plus you should still have all 5 good Lakers players to use in the finals. So use your cavs players get good PRA out of them then use magic players in the next round, then use Lakers in the finals. It is far enough in that you can use guys from teams that might move on.
7. Even if LeBron sucks again (i highly doubt it) then it will still be the highest PRA of the game (last game-which he sucked- he had 28 PRA if im not mistaken)
SO LeBron is the EASY pick! Don't fret.
Even if you think the Cav's will win then it will be worth it and it won't be terrible in the next couple rounds.
Great analysis Dennis, as always.
ReplyDeletedogma79@msn.com - u can add me on facebook or messenger to exchange some ideas about the NBA.
Today we will have a great game :)
James will put big numbers today. He will not repeat his last game performance.
Stay cool and again tks for the support!
Yup well we were right (although im not super excited because that was the easiest pick ive made all year!)
ReplyDeleteYa i might messenger you later on. These next couple rounds are where it gets extremely hard to disect. We don't have the liberty to wait and see who will win the series we have to guess (a wrong guess could be fatal)
Having said that (if your anything like me) then you have used 4 celtic players already. So we will have to start picking magic players (and maybe big baby, but im gonna wait on him, he could be of good value if Garnett or Pierce gets injured)
Anyways who ya got in the west?
As much as i would love the suns to win my judgement knows better. I know the suns have exceeded a lot further and surprised many. However lets think about it. They beat a blazers team without their star (or without him at full power) Then they beat an old and injury riden spurs (ok it was impressive they swept them i admit) however they matched up extremely well against the spurs.
Now i would love to say it will continue. However not only are the lakers not old or hurt, they are top of the line. The sweep of utah was indictive of how powerful and good they can be. They are good at stopping transition points (and can play at a fast pace themselves with the right line up in) And stoudemire will be overmatched in the middle with all the size and players the Lakers can throw at him. Nash will do his thing and do well but who else will step up? Who can stop both gasol and bynum? and who will stop kobe? The interesting x factor will be richardson- he has done very well in the postseason so far but can he continue against a lakers team who he averaged only 8.8 points per game against in the regular season?
I hate to say it but say goodbye and goodnight to the suns.
