My Daily Pick - Wed 04/28

Last Night's Drive: Dirk Nowitzki

Final Line: 15 Points + 9 Rebounds + 2 Assists = 26 PRA

Sorry for missing the last pick. LA gave me 23 disappointing PRA. Phoenix doubled him very well during the 2nd half. Same story yesterday with Dirk :( Caron Butler was on fire!

Points: 352 | Rank: 6.882 | Percentile: 70 %

Today I'm Driving With: Carmelo Anthony

No surprise here. It's an elimination game. I still have all the Nuggets. No George Karl...Playing against the best PG in the league...Bye Bye Denver :)

  1. Not a bad decision. However I have a gut feeling that Denver at home (notoriously great home team) being down in the series 1-3 that Denver will come alive and win this game. On top of that I think that Melo is going to have a lot of help. He did it all the last game and did fantastic while his teammates did nothing and they know it. I have a feeling everyone is going to step up and do their part to cruise to a victory.

Although Melo will probably play ok, i don't they will need him to play great so i don't see a big game from him.

I am driving with Billups hoping he picks up his field goal percentage and lives up to his nickname Mr. Big Shot cause they need lots of big shots tonight in order to stay alive.

So while it is a gamble because if they lose then i can't use Melo, I do think Denver will win and Melo will be better used in Utah when they really need him.

  2. Yes. I understand your point of view. It makes sense. Sometimes u just have to play by feeling...and i really feel that Denver is going down tonight. If they win this game Billups is a great pick for today.

  3. And also one of the reasons that i'm picking melo:

DENVER (AP) -- The Denver Nuggets will have Chauncey Billups guard Deron Williams from the start of Game 5 against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.

Not an easy nigh for Billups...

    Good Luck :)

  4. Yup,

I saw that Billups was guarding Williams and that made me hesitate. However the nuggets are a good team (great team with George Karl) and their home crowd is huge since they live off big runs and their players (especially the bird man and JR swoosh) live off of thrilling the crowd.

Anyways Billups had an ok night despite the foul trouble, but Melo picked up 11 rebounds to give him 39 so not too shabby at all.

Who you picking tom? I have picked both Miller and Aldrige and Nowitzki, so i think i need to pick another Mav. Im temped to pick Roy but he has yet to do anything since coming back (i think he came back way too premature because he is young and not thinking about his future so he is playing at about 75 percent and for a guy who needs to slash and drive the lane 75 percent won't cut it)

So having said all that i think i will roll with Kidd. I am temped to take Butler but i know Pop will make sure he does not have the same kind of night 2 days in a row he is too good of a coach for that. So that leaves Terry and Kidd. I think Kidd will step up and take advantage of a young Hill and an injured Parker and score and dish out the assists so i am rolling with Kidd. (what do you think Terry or Kidd if you had to pick?)

But Alrdige or Miller are good picks if you have used Nowitzki.

  5. Hy there,

1st, u made the correct move with billups since they won the game. melo had a decent night (he had 2 games in this series with 51 PRA, so...) I think he will go for better numbers in game 6.

For today i probably will pick miller but i dont expect 2 much from him (25+ would be great). In my opinion Miller has been the best player in this series. He's very consistent.

I agree with u. Roy is not ok. I saw the last game and it's obvious. I like a player who wants to help the team, that's a great mentality but i think that at this moment he is not helping at all. It's a dangerous situation for him and for us :)

Again I agree with u. Pop wont let Butler do it again. Kidd...Risky. He's not shooting well in the series (the spurs r giving him to many wide open shots) do u really see Kidd stepping up? i do, as a leader but not in the stats. plus J.J. Barea could see more minutes...

Terry, he may explode...we never know. i like to pick players like terry (6th man) specially in home games.

So, beteween Kidd and Terry? It may not be a great night for him, but i think i would pick kidd.

    Stay cool

  6. Hey,

So i am rolling with Kidd. I was tempted to go with Terry because of his huge upside off the bench. However 2 things kept me from pulling the trigger. 1. he rolled his ankle in game 4 and his performance suffered in game 5 because of it. He couldn't drive or cut as effectively. and 2. since the Mavs got Butler, Terrys role has been limited since Butler is essentially a Terry like player but better.

So thanks for advise and helping me think about it.

Good Luck with Miller. since you picked Aldrige already Miller is the best pick today for you in my opinion.
